Angela - Bahrain

In pursuit of optimal career opportunities, I flew half way across the world from Bahrain to Australia in 2003 to study Medicine.

I moved into The Village when it opened in July, having previously lived at a residential college and then as a live-in tutor at a private boarding school. The security and privacy at The Village in my opinion remains unmatched. I have a great room with my own bathroom on the top floor of a five-bedroom townhouse.

It's a bonus to be living in the city and so close to the Central Markets. I usually walk to get to and from Uni, and after hours I take the free shuttle bus from Uni so I don't have to worry about walking home in the dark. There is always the option of the free city loop and connector buses when the weather is really bad.

Central Markets is the place for food lovers! I like to whip up my own meals, such as traditional or vegetarian dishes hence I am at the markets every Friday evening.

My housemates are from Canada, USA, Israel and Britain and I've also made friends here from Malaysia, Singapore, Germany, Holland and of course Australia.

Living at The Village has allowed me the ideal combination of work, sport and a social life -I'm having a great time!
