April Adelaide City Tour*
Monday 10 April; Half day tour - 3.5 hours

Adelaide’s grace and charm lies in its elegant sandstone buildings set in beautiful parks and gardens. Accompanied by a local guide, come and discover hidden away treasures and learn more of our history and heritage. Highlights include:

  • The city’s heart with its distinctive squares, terraces, parks and gardens.
  • The diverse residential architecture of North Adelaide with its bluestone mansions and workers cottages.
  • North Terrace with its galleries, museums and hidden courtyards.
  • Tandanya, the National Aboriginal Cultural Centre, to hear a didgeridoo performance.
  • A knowledgeable local guide.

Time: 9.30am - 1.00pm

Heritage Walk
Monday 10 April; Half day tour – 2.5 hours

Every city has a special street that captures its heritage and essence. Ours is North Terrace. Put on your walking shoes and discover Adelaide’s ‘Cultural Boulevard’, a splendid thoroughfare lined with seats of government and learning, grand repositories of art, books and historic treasures, as well as courtyards and public statuary both contemporary and historic.

A guided tour of the University of Adelaide by the Alumni Association Guides will be included.

Time: 2.30pm – 5.00pm
Cost: $25.00 per person

Secrets and Surprises of the Adelaide Hills*
Tuesday 11 April; Full day tour - 6 hours

Colonel Light, founder of the city of Adelaide, once referred to the Mount Lofty Ranges as ‘The Enchanted Hills’. Today, we will take you to the Hills and unfold some of their secrets and surprises. Your tour could include:

  • A visit to Jurlique Herb Farm for a private tour through the herb beds to discover how this internationally acclaimed company produces and uses herbs in their natural skincare products.
  • A tour and a picnic style lunch in the garden of The Cedars - home and studio of the late Sir Hans Heysen, one of Australia’s . nest landscape artist.
  • Time in Hahndorf - historic German township where the Main Street is lined with a plethora of shops and galleries for you to enjoy.
  • A visit to an artist in his private studio.

Time: 9.30am - 3.30pm

A Taste of Adelaide
Tuesday 11 April; Half day tour – 4 hours

Adelaide, with its rich multi-cultural society, has earned its reputation for excellent food and wines and is the host city to ‘Tasting Australia’ – an extravagant Gourmet Food & Wine Festival. Today, you can sample a taste of Adelaide’s food, wine and culture from:

  • A visit to the bustling Adelaide Central Market with its wonderful fresh produce with a tour and tasting along the way. A specialist gourmet guide will conduct your tour.
  • Haigh’s Chocolates – Haigh’s is a long established business that makes delicious chocolates.
  • Lucia’s for the best cup of coffee
  • Limoncello –a real Italian experience. The traditional lemon liqueur of Italy originated on the terraced cliffs of the Amalfi coast, now found in Mediterranean Adelaide.

Artistic Adelaide*
Wednesday 12 April; Half day tour - 3.5 hours

This exclusive tour has been arranged to allow you to discover the depth and richness of the arts and crafts of Adelaide, with a detailed insight into the works of the following selection:

  • Artlab to observe the talented team skilfully restoring works of art, from paintings to porcelain, books to needlework, artefacts and family treasures. A real “behind the scenes” experience.
  • The Art Gallery of South Australia for a private introduction of selected “treasures” with an in-house gallery guide.
  • The Jam Factory - the contemporary Craft Centre of South Australia, where the outstanding craftspeople of today have their studios and display their work. Includes a visit to the glass blowing and ceramic studios.

Wine and Roses
Wednesday 12 April; Half day tour – 2.5 hours

What a wonderful combination our Mediterranean climate can offer.

Highlights include:

  • Learning about Australian Wines with the Wine Journey at the National Wine Centre.
  • A visit to Carrick Hill –an Elizabethan style manor house set in the beautiful garden containing over 2,000 roses, which houses one of the finest private art collections in the country now bequeathed to the people of South Australia. – a real State Treasure.
