Viticultural  Agronomist
I am working as a Viticultural Agronomist for Wesfarmers Landmark. My job takes me around the wine regions of South Australia, working as part of a team and helping vineyard managers and growers grow the best grapes they can. The daily interaction with wine grape growers is very rewarding and the chance to work with the growers in implementing management strategies and following the progress of the crop through the season is a great way to put theory into practice.

After studying Agricultural Science at Adelaide University’s Waite Campus I undertook an exchange scholarship to complete the third year of my degree at the University of Guelph in Canada. Through course work at both Adelaide and Guelph I developed an interest in plant pathology and the significance of fungal disease in agricultural and horticultural crops.

I started working with Wesfarmers Landmark (formerly IAMA) as a viticultural sales agronomist , based in McLaren Vale. Now, as Viticultural Agronomist with their Agriservices team, I provide crop monitoring, plant nutrition, irrigation scheduling and pest and disease management services for vineyard managers and I’m enjoying the challenge of working in a commercial environment and managing client requirements on a daily basis.

“The combination of science with emerging technology and viticulture, one of the most dynamic global industries, means that I can play an important role helping producers and have a career that can take me anywhere in the world.”
