The
Bachelor of Agriculture degree provides you with education and training
in agriculture, with special emphasis on the application of scientific and
management principles. At Adelaide University you can specialise in second
year in one of three streams: dryland farming, livestock production or horticulture
and irrigation. A vital part of this program is the development of the practical
and managerial skills required to operate a farm.
Career options include farm management or operation in agricultural
production, agricultural service industries such as chemical, machinery,
stock firms or banks, advisory, research and regulatory services with government
or semi-government bodies, and agricultural journalism. This course can
also lead to a career in teaching agriculture at secondary level (after
completing a graduate diploma in education) or tertiary level (after higher
degree studies).
