program focuses on the application of science to the environment and includes
areas of study that relate to human impact on the environment. The program
has a strong base in science and the application of technologies such as
Geographic Information Systems, remote sensing and other computer applications
and also includes elements of environmental law and the economics of the
environment.
Career options include management and research positions based in
government departments, as environmental and rehabilitation officers in
rural and mining industries, and as environmental consultants in private
enterprise.
