Pharmaceutical Evaluation

Industry submissions to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) are critiqued by AHTA staff in terms of whether the pharmaceutical is safe, effective and cost-effective. This evaluation aids decisions regarding whether the pharmaceutical should be publicly funded through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).

The team that conducts these evaluations comprises experts in epidemiology, health economics, biostatistics, and pharmaceutical sciences.
