Pharmaceutical Evaluation

AHTA conducts evaluations of submissions to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and provides reports to the PBAC, in terms of the safety, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of an evaluated pharmaceutical. This evaluation aids decisions regarding whether the pharmaceutical should be publicly funded through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).

The team that conducts the evaluations comprises of experts in epidemiology, health economics, biostatistics, and pharmaceutical sciences.
