Reunions

The University of Adelaide sees thousands of graduates pass through its doors every year. Thanks to a flourishing Reunions Program, we are delighted to see some of these alumni return, if only for a day.

Reunion events invite all alumni - students and staff alike - to revisit the people and the places that made their time at the University of Adelaide unique. Whether compelled by nostalgia or curiosity, attending a reunion is a chance to renew old friendships, make new ones and discover the changes that have taken place both in yourself and your university. Reunions can be social, but they can also provide an opportunity to develop business and community networks, reflect upon the place of education within society whilst revisiting old haunts. Reunions contribute meaningfully to the grand mosaic that is University life, culture and tradition.

Development and Alumni facilitate several reunions throughout the year, as well as providing assistance and advice to other groups interested in organising their own reunions.

If you are interested in organising a class reunion or would like more information about the University's reunions program, please contact Rebecca Pym:

Golden Jubilee 1958

The 1958 Graduates’ Golden Jubilee Commemoration Ceremony will take place on Friday October 17 2008 in Bonython Hall. This ceremony is followed by a Reunion Luncheon on campus. Academic dress is worn during the ceremony to relive the heady thrill of graduation and is available free of charge to Golden Jubilee graduates. Graduates can wear the robes of any higher degree or learned college they have been admitted to.

All graduates, family and friends are encouraged to attend to celebrate this momentous occasion. This Commemoration enables graduates to revisit old haunts and memories, take tours of any faculty or research facility and contribute meaningfully once more to the University’s tradition and culture.

A commemorative booklet is produced that includes photographs and biographies of fellow 1958 graduates, providing a lasting memento of the event. We would be delighted if you would contribute to the booklet, even if you are unable to attend the ceremony, by completing the Reunion Biography Form.

The Golden Jubilee has proved to be a highlight of the Development and Alumni program and has made a huge contribution to the life story, fabric and rich tradition of the University of Adelaide.

We appreciate your assistance in locating some of our 'missing graduates' so that we can ensure as many of your fellow classmates are invited to this important occassion. If you have any information on graduates included in this missing list (as at 23 May 2008), please contact Rebecca Pym on +61 8 8303 3317 or rebecca.pym@adelaide.edu.au at your earliest convenience.
