Welcome to the Hugo Centre for Migration and Population Research

The Australian Population and Migration Research Centre, (APMRC) has recently been renamed the Hugo Centre for Migration and Population Research (the 'Hugo Centre'), in recognition of its late Director and founder, Professor Graeme Hugo (AO).

The Hugo Centre, located within the School of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Adelaide, is staffed by a core team of professionals under the leadership of Associate Professor Alan Gamlen.

The Hugo Centre incorporates the National Centre for the Social Applications of GIS (GISCA) which has an established reputation in providing a wide range of spatial analysis, modelling and GIS consultancy services for Commonwealth, State and local governments, non-government organisations, and the private sector.
