2010 program application form

Program information

Online Services

As a student of the University of Adelaide, you will be required to access the following online services to:

  • manage your enrolment, course payment, personal student details and graduation > do this via Access Adelaide
  • access programs materials, information and complete tutorial work and other tasks > do this via MyUni
  • contact and recieve important information from the program coordinators and academic > do this via University Webmail
  • access library and other university resources for students > do this via the University website

It is an expectation of all students to have a reasonable level of computer skills to enable them to successfully complete their program of study.

Access Adelaide

Access Adelaide is a web-based system that allows students to view and amend their University record on-line. You can log on from any computer with Internet access, using your username and password which is provided on enrolment. Students will be required to use Access Adelaide to:

1. complete the online enrolment process
2. view and amend enrolment details
3. view and amend personal details (including name, address and telephone numbers)
4. pay for their course
5. apply to graduate

Important Note on Graduations:

All students who successfully complete the Professional Certificate will be required to apply to graduate online via Access Adelaide. The Graduations Office will notify students of their eligibility or ineligibility to graduate ONLY via Access Adelaide. ONLY confirmation of your eligibility to graduate on Access Adelaide will mean inclusion in the graduation ceremonies. When you log onto Access Adelaide, select “Graduations” from the left-hand side list of options and follow the prompts.

MyUni

MyUni is the University of Adelaide's online learning environment. All students enrolled in the Professional Certificate have access to this system which is obtained by a username and password provided on enrolment. All online work for the program will be conducted through MyUni.

A detailed set of instructions for using this system will be included in your student package and an demonstration of MyUni will be conducted at the Introduction workshops

Webmail Account

As a student of the University of Adelaide, you will be provided with an email service as a reliable means of electronic communication with academic and administrative staff, as well as your fellow students. Access is obtained by a username and password which is provided on enrolment.

It is critical that you check your student email account on a regular basis so that you do not miss out on important program information.

Log on to your webmail account.

General Course

Application and enrolment

  • Monday 8 February application closes (late application may be accepted)
  • Tuesday 9 February enrolment for General Course and Advanced Course opens
  • Monday 15 March enrolment for General Course closes:

Face to face Introduction workshops

  • Friday 26 February (Adelaide) or Friday 5 March (one other Australian capital city) day 1: face to face workshop (half day)
  • Saturday 27 February (Adelaide) or Saturday 6 March (one other Australian capital city) day 2: face to face workshop (full day)

Face to face Practical workshops

  • Friday 28 May (Adelaide and one other Australian capital city) day 1: face to face revision workshop (half day)
  • Saturday 29 May (Adelaide and one other Australian capital city) day 2: face to face practical workshop (full day)

Course length

  • Tuesday 2 March to Tuesday 14 June
  • Tuesday 6 April to Friday 16 April - mid-semeter break

Assessment due dates

  • Friday 21 May - assignment
  • Saturday 19 June - exam (two hour open book exam)

University of Adelaide Census dates

The date you withdraw from a course may affect your academic transcript.  Below are the critical dates for the General Course and the effect on your student record. 

  • Wednesday 31 March – enrolment is deleted and no result is entered on the student’s record
  • Friday 7 May – “Withdraw Not Fail” (WNF) is recorded on the student’s record
  • Friday 4 June – “Withdraw Fail” (WF) is recorded on the student’s record
Advanced Course

Application and enrolment

  • Tuesday 9 February 2010 enrolment for General Course and Advanced Course opens:
  • Monday 9 August 2010 enrolment for Advanced Course closes
  • If you have completed the General Course in a previous year and wish to apply for the Advanced Course please see further information for previous students

Face to face Introduction workshops

  • Friday 23 July (Adelaide) or Friday 30 July (one other Australian capital city) day 1: face to face workshop (half day)
  • Saturday 24 July (Adelaide) or Saturday 31 July (one other Australian capital city) day 2: face to face workshop (full day)

Face to face Practical workshops

  • Friday 24 September(Adelaide and one other Australian capital city) day 1: face to face revision workshop (half day)
  • Saturday 25 September (Adelaide and one other Australian capital city) day 2: face to face practical workshop (full day)

Course length

  • Tuesday 27 July to Tuesday 2 November
  • Monday 20 September to Friday 1 October - mid semester break
