Why get involved

A unique opportunity currently exists, in which to evaluate the role of MCA-PSV in determining the timing of second and subsequent fetal intrauterine blood transfusions, and the impact this has on fetal and neonatal morbidity, when compared with standard care.

Get Involved in the MCA Doppler Study

Thank you for your interest and participation in this international multicentre randomised trial. If you would like to take part in the study please contact Andrea or Trish on this link mcadoppler@adelaide.edu.au for information on how to get started and provide assistance with helping you obtain ethics approval.

Human Research Ethics Approval

Please email us the name of your hospital or institution and the name of the Human Research Ethics Committee you intend submitting your application to. We will forward the full study protocol and all study related documents.

We can provide assistance with your application including form completion, wording for participant information and consent and if required submission.

Please find a summary of active centres that have secured ethics approval or have completed the submission process and are awaiting approval to commence on this link.

Applications have been completed in several languages other than English and we can facilitate contact with centres who will share translated resources.

Data Entry and Collection

Once ethics and research approval has been obtained, detailed instructions will be sent. Individual user names are required for on-line data entry. Please email Andrea or Trish if you require a username. Our online randomisation service and data entry facility will be made available to you when you obtain your username. (Please allow 24 hours after randomisation before completing online data entry).

We all know that data collection can take up a bit of time, but it need not be. You can complete data online or on paper data forms to be returned by mail to the coordinating centre. You will need to keep a copy for your own records. When a patient is recruited into the study the procedure for randomisation is followed.

It is very important that the data entry is completed as soon as possible to ensure the database is up to date to facilitate mail out of follow up questionnaires to the women. Each centre can access their outstanding data online at this link by using your unique individual username and password.

Please contact Andrea or Trish at mcadoppler@adelaide.edu.au to assist you with this process.
