Guidelines for the use of fluorides in Australia have been updated following the ARCPOH Workshop on the Use of Fluorides in Australia, Adelaide, 13–14 October 2005. ‘The use of fluorides in Australia: Guidelines’ was published in the Australian Dental Journal 2006.

All Fluoride Update Program materials have been reviewed in 2008 and updated to incorporate the latest information and current fluoride recommendations from the guidelines for use of fluoride in Australia.
The Fluoride Update Program was developed in response to frequent requests from dental practitioners, and consists of a set of information sheets from the cariology area on the issue of fluorides in today's dental practice. Information sheets have companion summary pamphlets for use as a guide for discussion with patients.
