Academic Women's Promotions Forum - Friday 11 April 2008

The Academic Women's Promotion Forum is an annual event intended to encourage academic women to apply for promotion. The focus of the sessions is to provide women with practical and strategic advice and information on preparing and writing a promotion application - whether they are applying in 2008 or in the future.

The first session will be guest speakers who will provide information on key requirements of the Promotions Policy and a panel of academic women who have experienced the promotions process.

Date: Friday 11 April 2008, 2.00pm-4.30pm
Venue: 106 Basten Room, Mitchell Building, North Tce
Attendance: The workshop is open to academic women at all classification levels considering promotion. There will be speakers that can address questions regarding each classification level.

Updates - 2007

'Women in Research' Project

A Chief Investigator and project team to conduct 'Women in Research Project' has been selected. The team will be headed by Associate Professor Amanda LeCouteur and Professor Martha Augoustinos and include Ms Shona Crabb from the School of Psychology. The AWF received a number of expressions of interest relating to project and those staff may be involved in the project in an advisory and support capacity.

Background

The Vice Chancellor allocated $36,500 from his discretionary fund to conduct research on the structural impediments to maximizing the research output of academic women at this university, particularly in the context of the RQF framework. The final report from the project will include recommendations for enhancing academic women’s research outcomes.
