Being a Research-Only Academic
AWF will be hosting a Forum designed for research-only academics (at their request) although all academic women are welcome to attend. The purpose of the panel is to provide resources, networks and advice for research only academic women in the development of their professional careers. Guest speakers include researchers from a range of Faculties at the University of Adelaide and Flinders University of South Australia. If you are an early career researcher or at any other stage of a career trajectory, this forum will be usful.
Date: Wednesday October 27th
Time: 9.30 am - 12.30 pm
Venue: Margaret Murray Room, Level 4, Union Building
The program will be faciliated by Vivienne Moore and Megan Warin and includes these sessions:
- The research context: competitive and insecure
- Getting there? Getting where?
- Stepping stones to an independent research career
- Setting your own directing and balancing your CV
- Being productive and having a life
- Visibility: networking, media, public relations
