Municipal Solid Waste Digestion
There is growing interest in solving both waste excesses and energy shortages by using anaerobic digestion, either by harvesting landfill gas or in digestion facilities. Below are some links and people to contact for further information.
Dr Duncan Martin has provided a useful overview and a simple method of solid digestion.
The "Progressive Engineer" has articles on landfill gas.

Watersmart would be quite willing to field technical questions on anaerobic digestion of MSW and green wastes. Regards- Chuck Steiner (email: csteiner@ix.netcom.com )
Greenfinch, a small R&D company based in the UK has been operating the UK's only biowaste
digester for the past 18 months recycling source separated kitchen waste from 1200 households.
Previously we ran a 200 household digester for 2 years and we are about to embark on a new
project to directly compare mesophilic and thermophilic digestion. Contact Michael Chesshire
