Typography

The University of Adelaide brand uses specific typography which plays a key role in our Brand Standards.

The typography is made up of two groups:


  • Design-based typefaces

    The University InDesign templates have been created with pre-defined paragraph style sheets to enable all general marketing and communication materials to have a standard visual design.

    The typefaces used for design-based templates are:

    • Optima Medium
    • Optima Roman
    • Georgia Regular
    • Georgia Italic.
  • Corporate typefaces

    These typefaces are used in all standard University Microsoft templates.

    The typefaces used for Microsoft templares are:

    • Arial Regular
    • Arial Bold
    • Georgia Regular
    • Georgia Italic.

The Brand Elements section of the Brand Standards will provide you with more information about the University's type palette and its use.


Please Note
All brand elements must be used as indicated in the Brand Standards and without modification, to ensure that the University's brand integrity is maintained.

Any brand or marketing advertising developed outside Marketing and Communications should be sent to brandapprovals@adelaide.edu.au. This enables review against the Brand Standards design architecture, prompting additional external designer education if required.
