Campus Setting
Located on the banks of the River Torrens, Thebarton Campus is less than 4km
from Adelaide's central business district and comprises 5 hectares of office,
laboratory, manufacturing and warehouse space. The Distillery Building, built
in mid-1800s, is heritage-listed and is the central administration office for
the campus. Einstein's Café is located in the Old Railway Building which was formerly
located at Terowie, 220km north of Adelaide, and was where General McArthur saluted
the people of Terowie and made his most famous statement during World War II.
The campus has been developed as a Research Park and is a vital link between
the University of Adelaide and Australian
business and industry. The campus aims to be an Australian leader in creative
university/industry linkages.

The Students
In 2007 Thebarton Campus had 54 postgraduate students predominantly associated
with faculties based at North Terrace.
