Introduction to SPSS for Statistics

SPSS is a widely used program for statistical analyses.

This workshop is aimed at HDR students with a need for statistical analysis using SPSS but who have limited experience with this software.

The workshop will cover:

  • Working with data in SPSS
  • Plotting data
  • Tests of hypotheses
  • Linear regression
  • Multiple linear regression
    • ANOVA

Students should have a general familiarity with computers and knowledge of introductory-to-intermediate level statistical analysis. Programming experience and advanced statistical theory are not needed.

*Please note, this workshop is a repeat of the practical component of "Intermediate Statistics with SPSS" held in April 2017.

Pre-requisites The purpose of this workshop is to provide an introduction to SPSS. It is assumed that you have a general familiarity with computers and knowledge of introductory-to-intermediate level statistical analysis. For example, you have already completed Statistical Methods for Research (Epigeum). Programming experience and advanced statistical theory are not needed.
