Participate in a Study
World-leading researchers at the University of Adelaide and Royal Adelaide Hospital are striving to understand better how gut function affects processes like blood glucose and appetite control. We are seeking volunteers for the following 3 studies. All research has been approved by the Ethics Committee of the Royal Adelaide Hospital, and an honorarium is paid in recognition of time spent in the trial.
Study 1 - Function of the stomach and small intestine
We need volunteers who are:
- healthy lean male (BMI 19-25kg/m2) or
- healthy obese male (BMI 30-40kg/m2) or
- have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
are treated by diet or single oral medication
are NOT taking insulin
without any gastrointestinal symptoms or gastric surgery

Study 2 - Effects of dietary protein on gastrointestinal function
We need volunteers who are:
- male
- aged 30-60 years
- without any signficant illness(es)
- a non smoker

Study 3 - Role of glucose on blood pressure, heart rate and blood flow
We need male and female volunteers who are:
- healthy
- aged 65 years and older
- not on any blood pressure medication
