FacilitiesCERG has access to a number of facilities within the University of Adelaide and at external research partners, that enable routine chemical and isotopic analysis of bulk rock and individual mineral samples to be performed. The group also has a range of geophysical survey instruments. Chemical and Isotopic AnalysisElectron Microprobe - Chemical Analysis of silicates and chemical U-Th-Pb dating of monazite. Thermal ionisation radiogenic isotope mass spectrometry (TIMS) - Nd, Pb and Sr isotopic analysis of minerals and rocks. Laser Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (Laser ICP-MS). Geophysical InstrumentationGeophysical Instrumentation: Long-period magnetotelluric instrumentation for crustal-scale mapping. Currently several new sets of instrumentation are being developed. |
