Project Details
In the northern Madurai Block of southern India, metasedimentary rocks have experienced temperatures of up to 1000ºC and structurally overlie apparently lower-temperature meta-igneous rocks of the Kodiakanal range. How old are the rocks? How did they get their present architecture? Where did the metasediments come from? And how does this help constrain Gondwana? All questions that this project aims to shed light on.
The field work component of this project was conducted in August, 2006.
