An Australian Research Council funded Project - LP0347342Projects InvestigatorsDoctor Chris Clark (Curtin University) Associate Professor Martin Hand Doctor Lachlan Rutherford (PIRSA) Backgound to Curnamona ProjectsThe Curnamona Province consists of Palaeoproterozoic to Mesoproterozoic sediments, volcanics and granites that have been multiply deformed during two major orogenic cycles, the Olarian Orogeny and the Delamerian Orogeny. The rocks of the Curnamona Province lie within the Willyama Complex, which includes the Broken Hill Block, location of the world class Broken Hill Pb-Zn-Ag deposit. The complex mamgatic, sedimentary and orogenic history of the Curnamona province lends itself to intensive study through isotopic geochemistry and related geochemical techniques. There are three major projects underway within CERG to further our understanding of the Curnamona Province. Follow the links to read more.
More details about the geology, geophysics, GIS, mineralisation and orogenesis within the Curnamona Province can be found on the PIRSA web site. |
