Affecting Real Change
From the inside out
The Centre for Energy Technology was pleased to host Catherine Way on July 24. Catherine's seminar gave valuable insight into BHP Billiton's efforts toward more sustainable mining practices.
Abstract
Catherine Way has taken her commitment to environmental awareness down a road less travelled. From her time as a campaigner within the resolute pro-environment NGO sector, she now works to achieve meaningful environmental change in the arena of private enterprise as a sustainability adviser to one of the world's largest mining companies.
From her area of speciality in energy and greenhouse gas management, Catherine will share her insights on the carbon reduction cost curve modelling that she recently undertook for the Olympic Dam expansion. This was done as part of BHP Billiton's desire to reduce carbon emissions within a realistic timescale.
