Research in Applied Mathematics at Adelaide dates back to the founding of the University through the work of the Foundation Chair of Mathematics, Sir Horace Lamb. We are involved in leading edge research in areas such as dynamic systems, mathematical biology, fluid mechanics and solid mechanics. Our research aims to develop a fundamental understanding of the behaviour of mechanical and biological systems through the use of advanced mathematical techniques and the use of modern computing technologies.
