About the Children's Research Centre
The Children's Research Centre is an alliance of world-class research leaders who have come together to pioneer new treatments and cures for Australia's most common childhood illnesses.
We are focused on reversing chronic childhood illness before it manifests as permanent adult disease in the following areas:
| 1. Diabetes | 6. Sleep disorders |
| 2. Gut disorders and obesity | 7. Childhood vaccines |
| 3. Allergy | 8. Autoimmunity |
| 4. Cystic fibrosis | 9. Neuromotor conditions |
| 5. Mental illness |
10. Bone impairments |
Based at the Women's and Children's Hospital, we are the only patient-focused research centre in South Australia dedicated solely to child health.
We draw on the expertise of researchers at the University of Adelaide, the University of South Australia, the Women's and Children's Hospital and SA Pathology, and are responsible for the majority of all clinical-based health research for children in the State.
As a result of our collaborations, the Children's Research Centre is uniquely placed to pool extensive knowledge in child health and influence the future health directions of South Australia and the nation.
