Fundraise for the Centre

If you are a member of the community who has been touched by a child health issue or who wants to play a more active part in child health research, you may like to start a fundraising group in your local area.

The Children's Research Centre encourages people of all ages to put their creativity to use and come up with their own fundraising ideas in order to assist vital research into childhood injury and disease. There are many fun and simple ways that you can help support the scientists at the Centre while giving something back to your donors.

For example, you may choose to host one of the following:

  • Trivia or film night
  • Music gig
  • Sausage sizzle
  • Breakfast or luncheon
  • Community car wash
  • Christmas gift-wrapping booth
  • "Cook-off" contest
  • Wine or cheese tasting
  • Raffle
  • Tennis or golf tournament
  • Casual dress day at your workplace
  • Charity ball, auction or cocktail function
  • Market stall or garage sale
  • Sponsored "charity challenge" such as a bike ride, fun run or dog walk

Alternatively you may choose to nominate the Centre as your preferred charity at your office Christmas Party, sell your pre-loved belongings on e-bay and donate the proceeds, or provide a training class in an area of expertise to members of your community for a fee.

The Director of the Children's Research Centre can help you plan and advertise your fundraising activity. Please contact Professor Jenny Couper to discuss how you can become a community champion.
