Jasmin Strobel

Your journey from Year 12 to where you are now:

After completing Year 12, I applied to undertake a Bachelor of Commerce with the University of Adelaide. The following year I began studying Commerce, however I soon discovered that my true passion lay in Psychology. Upon this realisation, I promptly took steps to change my degree to a Bachelor of Psychological Science.

Once I had graduated from the University of Adelaide, I won a graduate role in Human Resources in a South Australian Government agency. I have greatly enjoyed my time in this role and the opportunities for learning and growth that it has afforded me. I am still yet to decide on an area of Human Resources specialisation, however I am excited to see where this career will take me.

Any internships or work placements during your studies?

I worked a few part-time jobs throughout my time as a student at the University of Adelaide. I found that working at a highly regarded Psychology Clinic gave me great insight into practicing Clinical Psychology and invaluable skills in psychological test scoring, report writing, transcribing and administration.

When thinking about future employment, what would be your "Top-3-Tips" for a new student about to embark on their University studies?

Sometimes you find out where your passion lies by doing the things you are not supposed to do or do not enjoy. So, make sure to say yes to all opportunities, because you never know where they'll take you.
