Population health and social impacts of climate change

Peng is Senior Lecturer in the School of Population Health and Clinical Practice at the University of Adelaide. His areas of research expertise include environmental epidemiology, ecosystem health and infectious disease epidemiology. He has wide experience in identifying and managing environmental health problems including the impact of climate change on population health. 

He has a significant track record in research on climate change and its impact on population health, both in Australia and overseas. He has studied the impact of climate variability on vector-borne diseases transmission, enteric infections, heatwaves and population health, and more recently adaptive strategies. His study results have provided important information to policy makers, local authorities and communities in the reduction of climate change impacts, environmental change risk assessment and management, as well as sustainable development.
