Teaching Awards and Grants Committee

The Teaching Awards and Grants Committee (TAGC) provides advice to the University Learning and Teaching Committee through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) on matters related to whole of institution learning and teaching awards at the University of Adelaide; and on matters relating to awards, grants, fellowships and other programs sponsored by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC).

The Committee is a body of peer review and acts as a selection committee for all University awards and all nominations for awards to the ALTC. In addition, the Committee, through its review process and the activities of its Chair, members and Executive Officer, provides assistance to staff wishing to apply for University or ALTC awards, grants and fellowships. Because it is a selection and review committee, the TAGC meets as required.

Membership of the Committee consists of:

• Director, Centre for Learning and Professional Development (ex officio) Convenor
• Nominee of the Executive Dean [usually the Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching)] of the:
  • Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences
  • Faculty of Health Sciences
  • Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Faculty of the Professions
  • Faculty of Sciences
• Dean of Graduate Studies (ex officio) or nominee
• Director, Student Support Services (ex officio) or nominee
• Director of Wilto Yerlo and Centre for Australian Indigenous Research and Studies (ex officio) or nominee
• University Librarian (ex officio) or nominee
• One academic staff representative who has previously won an ALTC award
• One professional staff representative who has previously won an ALTC award
• One currently enrolled undergraduate student representative
• One currently enrolled postgraduate student representative
