Webinars A webinar is a seminar which is conducted over the World Wide Web. It is a type of web conferencing. In contrast to a Webcast, which is transmission of information in one direction only, a webinar is designed to be interactive between the presenter and audience. Participants are able to interact both verbally and by text chat. Presenters are able to use electronic white boards, make slide presentations and link to other web sites. A webinar can be recorded and archived and used as a learning resource. More details at Wikipedia Online Learning, CLPD, University of Adelaide conducts webinars both nationally and internationally. In 2005 there was a series of three webinars looking at the Net Generation of learners and the implications for faculty. This was in collaboration with Learning Times and 14 universities around Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. For further details see Educating the Net Generation webinars.
