Cultural Awareness Program

 

The Cultural Awareness Program is designed to provide ample opportunity for staff of the University of Adelaide to raise issues, engage in discussion and gain information and skills for interacting effectively with students and colleagues from a wide variety of cultural and language backgrounds.

The program consists of four independent modules:

Cultural awareness 1: the big picture Mon 6 April 4:30pm - 6:00pm 1.5 hrs
Cultural awareness 2: cross-cultural communication Thurs 23 April 2:00pm - 5:00pm 3 hrs
Cultural awareness 3: internationalisation of the curriculum

Online Enrolment Forms for: Modules 1-3 or Module 4

These modules are designed to complement each other so that individuals may choose to attend one or more sessions, according to their needs. Additional sessions on culture-specific topics may be scheduled from time to time.

Tailored Sessions
Specific cultural awareness sessions can be arranged on request within Divisions, Faculties, Schools or Disciplines. These sessions will enable you to deal with cross-cultural issues that are most relevant to your staff.

Deans and Heads of Schools or Disciplines are invited to contact the CLPD to request specific workshops for groups of a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 25 participants.

 

Cost

The Cultural Awareness Program is free to all University of Adelaide staff.
