Certificate IV in Business (Front Line Management)
The Certificate IV in Business (Front Line Management) is currently being offered to HEO 5-7 staff. The program is delivered via a series of 8 full-day customised workshops, in addition to a 1-day program launch. Participants are required to attend one workshop per month, combining both training and assessment activities. Training will be conducted in the morning and part of the afternoon, and the remainder of the day will be allocated for introducing the assessment requirements to the participants so that they are clear about what is expected of them and how they will be assessed. The workshops will allow participants to link front line management theories and principles to practical applications of these skills in the workplace. Eight units are required for this qualification, consisting of five core units and 3 elective units, as follows:
All assessments will be competency and workplace based. Depending on the module or topic, assessment will be via a combination of role-plays, group discussions, individual/team projects, short answer questions, case simulations etc. The assessments will be conducted during the workshop and/or post workshop where participants have the opportunity to use resources at work and base their assessment activity on real work activities. Following each assessment activity, participants will obtain written and/or oral feedback from their assessor. Participants will need to do some reading in between training modules. The program has been put been designed and will be delivered in such a way that participants will not be required to exceed 10 hours in out of hours/outside work study time over the period of the program.
Enquiries are currently being taken for the 2009 course. To enrol in this program participants need to gain the approval from their manager/supervisor.
