Collect and record self-determined information / data from self-selected sources, choosing or devising an appropriate methodology with self-structured guidelines.

As for AV, 'self-determined' does not equate with 'sloppiness'; rather students are scaffolded in earlier levels towards rigorous methods of information gathering or data generation in Level 5, frequently determined by their engagement with the literature. Rarely at this level will marking criteria prescribed by lecturers or tutors be relevant, but leads from the literature will more likely provide an understanding of how such level 5 tasks may be assessed.

To see this staged development  of skills particular to embarking on inquiry work out in practice, look at examples from A1, though A2 & A3 to A4, by clicking on the navigation tool on the right.
