E-III.Synthesise and analyse information / data to construct emergent knowledge. Ask rigorous, researchable questions based on new understandings.Synthesis and/or analysis produce knowledge that doesn't exist in any 1 source, but that may be information new to the thousands . This facet represents a critical culmination of research processes whereby students explicitly make knowledge new to themselves, for example through identifying trends in data or commonalities and differences in the literature. Whether this knowledge is new to humankind as well will depend on the university year and academic requirement e.g. First Year or a PhD who requires much structure and guidance. Questions answerable through potential future research emerge as a result of this synthesis and analysis.
