Use mainly lay language and prescribed genre to demonstrate required knowledge and understanding for lecturer / teacher as the audience.

Elements of communication may be the focus here, such as 'title' and 'referencing', or communication of the whole process and product in discipline-relevant terminology and format. Lecturer/teacher is the designated audience. In laboratories students may communicate awareness of, say safety issues not only through language but also appropriate performance.
