Facilities
Clubroom The clubrooms provide a haven from the hustle and bustle
of the young and vibrant environment. In the kitchen area we have tea
and coffee making facilities, a microwave oven, toaster, and fridge. Tea
and coffee costs 40 cents per cup, which is the cheapest on campus! We
ask that all members clean up after themselves. Daily newspapers are provided. Membership currently costs $5 (the fee is set each year
at our AGM). Membership forms are available at the MSA clubrooms or at
the Mature Students Association table during Orientation Week or Clubs'
Week. There are a limited number of lockers available to members. Lockers that are no longer required by members are re-allocated at the commencement of each year. A fee of $5 per year is charged for the use of a locker. There is a waiting list for lockers. The waiting time varies on club membership numbers. To request a locker, please contact a committee member. Computer There is a computer with internet access available in the clubroom courtesy of SMUG. Thanks to Michael Lindner for arranging and providing this facility. Members Only Mailing List The mailing list is for members only and has been set up so that the committee can have an effective and quick way of contacting members and circulating notices regarding club business. This is different from the Mature Students Forum on the myUni site. The Mature Students Forum is an open forum for general discussion. If you are a member and would like to be added to the mailing list, send an email to mature.students@adelaide.edu.au. Please remember that the mailing list is run by volunteers, your committee, so it may take a couple of days for you to be added. Discussion Boards are a great way of communicating with other students on and off campus. Unlike the mailing list, the forum can be accessed by all students and university staff, not just members of the MSA. The Uni imposes behaviour guidelines and will censor material that is not thought to be suitable. Remember to read the guidelines before you post a thread. Log into MyUni, click on the Community Tab, click on Social Forum, click on Mature Student Forum. Have a go! A help sheet is available from the clubroom if you would like more help with accessing the forum.
