Doctor Guillaume Backé has been offered and accepted a 12-month extension to his contract, starting in January 2008. Doctor Guillaume Backé will continue his work on the stratigraphic and structural architecture of the Adelaidean Basin, providing important constraints for mineral and geothermal exploration.

Doctor Caroline Forbes has won a DEST Endeavour Research Fellowship, which will take her to Kochi University in Japan for 6 months from September 2009.

CMXUC and PIRSA receives $430,000 grant to study tectonics and mineral potential of the Northern Gawler Craton. Total external research funding generated by CMXUC now exceeds $1M in less than 2 years operating.

In 2007 Industry Partners and Collaborators included:
- Doctor Graham Baines has won a 3 year Australian Research Council APD(I) fellowship based at The University of Adelaide as part of the CMXUC/Monash University/PIRSA ARC Linkage grant “Unearthing the marginal terranes of the South Australian Craton: Keystone of Proterozoic Australia“. Doctor Graham Baines resigned from his previous contract to take up the fellowship in early 2008.
