Research Themes
The three research themes of the CMXUC are designed to answer three broad questions related to mineral exploration in regions of cover. The research questions are:
- What is the nature, tectonic evolution and mineral prospectivity of the basement rocks?
- What is the nature, evolution and mineral prospectivity of the cover sequences and what can they tell us about the basement on which they lie?
- How can the structure of the cover and basement be mapped in 3-dimensions, in order to help define its evolution and focus exploration efforts in prospective rocks?
