Waite Historic Precinct
The Waite Historic Precinct comprises the internationally renowned Waite Arboretum, the Urrbrae House Historic Precinct and the Waite Conservation Reserve.
The Waite Arboretum and the Urrbrae House Historic Precinct are listed on the South Australian (formerly 'State') Heritage Register and the National Estate, while Urrbrae House is also an accredited museum.
Public Tours
The Precinct offers a range of facilities and activities for the community including tours.
The Urrbrae House gardens, Waite Arboretum and Waite Conservation Reserve are open to the public every day of the year from dawn to dusk.
Urrbrae House is open at no charge to the public on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10.00am-4.00pm
* with a free guided tour on the first Sunday of the month at 2.00pm.
The Waite Arboretum offers free guided tours on the first Sunday of each month at 11.00am
Booked group tours of Urrbrae House and the Waite Arboretum may be arranged at other times (charges apply).
Interactive Schools Program
During school terms a free Interactive History Program for primary school children is held in Urrbrae House on Wednesday mornings (bookings are essential).
Waite Historic Precinct Volunteers
Some 120 volunteers work in Urrbrae House and its gardens, the Waite Arboretum and the Waite Conservation Reserve, making a significant contribution to the benefit of the University and the community at large
