WRED | The Primary Schools Program

The activities of the day are focused on enterprise and entrepreneurship through which students explore their own interests and capabilities and gain an appreciation that personal and financial success can come from them developing their own business.

 The Primary Program provides students with the fundamental concepts of what it takes to run a business and this is achieved by them learning about the business cycle from the actual making of a product to marketing and selling it.

ON THE DAY

Workshop 1 | Social Enterprise Awareness

With the guidance from their facilitators, students will be asked to complete a series of questions on social enterprises in the work booklet provided.

Students will have an opportunity to listen and interact with a representative from a charity organisation who will talk to them about their charity and how they go about marketing their product/s.

From the information provided by the charity organisation, students are then encouraged to think creatively in order to complete a design plan for their product.

Workshop 2 | Production Development & Packaging

With the materials supplied, students are asked to create their product based on the information provided by the charity organisation and their design plan.

Students will then package their product as if to sell to the public.

Some students will be selected to complete the Customer Research Questionnaire and report back to the group.

Workshop 3 | Selling Your Product

During this workshop students will split into two groups to make up a Commercial Team and Advertising & Promotions Team. The teams will need to communicate with each other in order to create a Commercial to advertise their product.

Students will perform the commercial during the final group presentations.

FINAL GROUP PRESENTATIONS

Students return to the Napier Building for final presentations to the audience.
