What happens on the day?

The activities of the day are focused on enterprise and entrepreneurship through which students explore their own interests and capabilities and gain an appreciation that personal and financial success can come from them developing their own business.

The Secondary Program provides students with a real insight into enterprise and entrepreneurship through successful young business people as presenters sharing their stories explaining how they have gone about achieving their success.  Through this interaction, students are stimulated to consider options, ideas and career paths to follow.  This compliments the work being done by schools and individual students in pursing enterprise education.

The Primary Program provides students with the fundamental concepts of what it takes to run a business and this is achieved by them learning about the business cycle from the actual making of a product to marketing and selling it.

The WRED learning experience gives students a better understanding of the value of ‘thinking big’ and ‘outside the square’.  It gives them an appreciation of the value of giving careful consideration to future career options – options that would ultimately impact on the change of them being successful both career wise and socially in life.

The Teachers’ Program is a morning session developed on the theme of private enterprise operations and connection of business establishments with the Education System.  The teachers will be able to discuss ideas for adapting their curriculum to develop further business skills and knowledge in students.  They have the opportunity to look at external programs and employment opportunities available to students.
