General information for teachers and students

There will be over 200 students from local secondary and primary schools at the enterprise day.  To help with the smooth running of the day please find below general information to help students and teachers.

Registration on the day:
It would be appreciated that the participating schools register between 8.30am-8.45am on the day.

The registration table will be located in the foyer of Bonython Hall.

Commencing and Finishing Times:
The Opening Ceremony will commence at 9:00am sharp and conclude at 9:40am.  Students will commence the first workshop at 9:50am.  The day will conclude at 3:00pm.

Facilities:
The WRED Opening Ceremony will be held in the Bonython Hall of the University of Adelaide, North Terrace.

The workshops will be held in the Napier Building located behind Bonython Hall.

Morning Tea and Lunch:
Morning tea, lunch and drinks will be provided to all participants.  Tea, coffee and water will also be provided to Teachers, Presenters and Facilitators.

Please notify Kerry James on 8303 3354 of any dietary requirements.

Transport:
Schools will be reponsible for transportation on the day.
  
Car Parking:
Car parking is available in Rundle Street in the Centrepoint Cark Park (above Target) or Rundle Car Park (above Hungry Jacks).

PLEASE NOTE:  Parking is not available on the Campus grounds. 

Attendance:
If a student is unable to attend another student can be sent as a replacement.  Please notify at registration.

We ask that students remain near the Napier Building during the morning tea and lunch breaks.  Each student will be marked off after each workshop.  If students do not return to workshops after breaks the school will be notified.

Students are required to wear normal school uniform and normal school rules will apply on the day.

Workshops:
The Primary students are arranged into 5 groups of approximately 20 students.  The Secondary students are also arranged in to 5 groups of approximately 20 students.

Groups are coloured coded: Red, Green, Blue, Orange and Yellow.

Each group is supervised by 2-4 facilitators.

While the primary and secondary students attend their workshops 1 and 2, the Teachers’ have an opportunity to attend the teachers program.

After lunch teachers are welcome to roam between groups to see their students and what they have been learning.

Name Tags:
Each student is required to wear their name tag which will be sent to the schools contact prior to the day.

Information Bags:
Each student and teacher will receive an information bag to take home at the conclusion of the day.

Certificates:
All students will receive a certificate for participating in the day.  Certificates will be sent out to the school contact.

Media Approval Forms:
The WRED Committee and The University of Adelaide would like to record the day for historic and promotional purposes via photographs, video recording and media stories which will be used in the following:

  • WRED Publications such as annual reports, publications, posters, brochures, magazines, and newspapers
  • The University of Adelaide website - www.adelaide.edu.au
  • WRED documents to potential corporate sponsors
  • Promotional DVD

Due to legal requirements all students under the age of 18 are required to have a parent/guardian sign a Photo/Video Release Form.
