Obtaining Permission from Copyright Owners
You will need to seek permission from the copyright owner to reproduce, communicate etc, material if:
- You wish to use more of the material than is allowed under a provision in the Copyright Act.
- You wish to use material for purposes other than for the educational purposes of the University, or under fair dealing, (e.g. for commercial use)
- The copyright owner has not already granted permission (e.g. via Creative Commons licence, on the terms and conditions of the website)
You do not need to seek permission if the University owns copyright in the material (even if it was created by a different Area or School from your own) and you wish to use the material for University purposes.
