Making appointments

Individual counselling appointments can be made by telephoning (+61 8) 8303 5663 or by visiting the Counselling Service. Appointments are usually scheduled for 50 minutes. If you are unable to keep an appointment please notify us as soon as possible so that the time can be made available to other students.

Availability

While our counselling team can usually see students quickly, there are times during the year when counselling services are required by a lot of students and we may not be able to see you straight away. There are some self-help resources available that you may find useful while you are waiting for your appointment.

Drop-in service

This is run daily from 1.00-4.00pm. No appointments are required and counsellors see students for a brief session of approximately 20 minutes on a first-come, first-served basis. Follow-up sessions are arranged when required.

Phone counselling

If you are unable to attend the Counselling Service in person we can arrange for a counsellor to speak to you via phone. This is usually done within the drop-in service (on the same day) unless alternative times are arranged. To arrange this please phone (+61 8) 8303 5663

Roseworthy

Roseworthy students can also see the Roseworthy Student Advisor for short term support at the Roseworthy campus.

Student Testimonial

students

“I liked how both drop-in and the appointments booked in advanced catered for different needs. In the drop-in the counsellors got straight to the point and tried to help deal with the immediate issues, while the appointments booked in advanced not only dealt with a few of the immediate problems but also the long term underlying problems. The Counsellors did not make me feel that my problems were pathetic or not important – no matter how small they would have appeared to other people.”
