Course Description	This is an introductory course on Statistical Machine Learning. The topics may include: introduction to unsupervised and supervised learning; classification and regression; linear and nonlinear dimensionality reduction and embedding; clustering; kernal methods such as support vector machines; ensemble learning including boosting methods; Gaussian Mixture models and the EM algorithm. Several assignments are deisgned to enable students to gain practical experience in using these techniques.
