Course Description Third generation mobile systems: WCDMA concepts, Multi-User Detection, Antenna Array techniques, MIMO, High Speed Packet Access, Long Term Evolution, Radio Resource Management, Packet Scheduling, Core Network Evolution. Multimedia: Image and video representation and transmission, JPEG, VLBV, MBMS. Competing technologies: WiFi, WiMAX, FttX. Emerging techniques: may include MANET, Cognitive Radio.
