| Course Description | This course explores the structures, actors, and processes of global governance in areas such as trade, social, health, and developmental policies. We will explore the key debates in global governance, and the relationship between global governance, national politics, and policy making. The course will also examine the role of non state actors, including the rise of private authority, transnational civic activism, the legitimacy of global governance regimes, and the rise of transnational policy networks. This course should give students a deeper understanding of recent theoretical and empirical developments in the field of global governance and regulation as well as grasp of some of the cutting edge issues in the recent international relations literature. |
