| Course Description | The course zeroes in on the interface between human economic activities and a variety of contemporary environmental issues including the tragedy of open-access natural resources, prisoners' dilemmas and environmental externalities and ecologically sustainable economic growth. The course critically delivers the mainstream economic way of thinking from philosophical and ethical perspectives and considers ecological approaches to economic development. The course also presents the geographies of environmental policy responses. Apart from academic resources, newspapers, novels and movies are used to communicate the subject matter. |
