This course provides an overview of the pharmaceutical engineering technology and translation in industry. The course covers the basic information about recombinant DNA technology and application in pharmaceutical industry; the role of key operational units in drug manufacturing processes. Brief introduction to process design emphasizing unique requirements of pharmaceutical plants (e.g. high purity, specialized utility systems, etc.) will be included. In the end of the course, you will be able to understand the most important pharmaceutical products manufacturing processes. The learning approaches include lectures, project design, presentation, quiz in the class and problem solving tutorials.
