MUSHONS 4002 - Honours Performance Minor Research Project

North Terrace Campus - Semester 2 - 2016

The course information on this page is being finalised for 2016. Please check again before classes commence.

The primary purpose of the project is to produce a 3000 word exegesis that bears upon works being performed in the student's Major Recital. The project provides preparation for postgraduate studies by research in Classical Performance or Jazz Performance. Accordingly, preparation of this Research Project may be similar to the preparation of an Exegesis for postgraduate programs, and will be carried out under the supervision of the Honours Research Project Coordinator. Students are required to identify, articulate and investigate research questions related to their Major Recital program of works. There will be 9 hours of research seminars in semester 2 in order to prepare students for this project. Students will also be required to construct Program Notes for their Major Recital comprising at least 1000 words (weighted at 15%) and the seminars will include some preparation for this task. Students will be required to make class presentations on a regular basis as they prepare and construct the 3000 word exegesis itself (weighted at 85%). Full-time and part-time students must undertake the Minor Research Project as an unbroken sequence.
