MUSCLASS 3500 - Music (SOSA) Internship 3

North Terrace Campus - Semester 2 - 2016

The course information on this page is being finalised for 2016. Please check again before classes commence.

This internship involves students in an operatic or music theatre production presented by the Elder Conservatorium in partnership with the State Opera of South Australia. Students? involvement may be on stage or behind the scenes, and will involve working with staff of the Elder Conservatorium, with SOSA artists, and with artistic and production staff of the State Opera. A particular focus of the internship will be on stagecraft and other theatre skills. Each year in which the internship is offered, an opera, musical or music theatre work will be chosen for presentation and the internship will involve all students in rehearsals and performances according to a schedule constructed by the Conservatorium and State Opera. Final placement within this internship will depend upon successful audition (in Semester 1) for a role or musical part in the selected production or placement within a non-auditioned production role. Following audition, successful applicants will be advised of their placement during first semester and will then be able to enrol in the course. This internship is offered simultaneously at years 1, 2 & 3 so that all enrolled students will be involved in the same production. The availability of this internship will ultimately depend on State Opera availability and scheduling from year to year.
